360 degree feedback process based on the competencies

This one-day program shows IT leaders how to assess their environment, and identify three critical types of patterns: environmental, technical, and behavioral. IT leaders often have strong technical skills, but haven't fully developed their ability to navigate the political terrain of the organizational environment. IT managers find that our Getting the Lay of the Land Course is a powerful tool to help them communicate more effectively with key stakeholders, and build support for their initiatives.

This program helps IT professionals improve their understanding of the organizational environment by: spotting important trends and patterns, gathering the right information, using the right approach to analyze information, using creative approaches to problem solving, understanding power and politics, tailoring communication style, networking effectively, and seeking out developmental projects.

The course uses a multimedia interactive CD-ROM program to demonstrate key concepts. In the program, actors demonstrate both effective and ineffective examples of the competencies. Then, participants practice effective behaviors in a realistic role-playing context, and are given immediate feedback by the facilitator and other participants. Hence, a risk-free environment is created where participants try out new techniques, and benefit from group reaction. Participants are encouraged to further develop these skills in conjunction with a coach and actionable plans. At the end of the course participants receive a copy of the CD, which reviews the lecture material and includes tips, on-the-job development ideas, insights from key leaders, and an interactive competency building exercise.
